Introduction

Welcome! This is my very first blog entry. I have never created a blog before and believe me I have experienced much anxiety about this first assignment. Maybe this is why I am posting so late because I have been working on this blog for two days. I pray it works!

My name is Elizabeth Akingbola. I prefer to be called Liz. I currently teach with Fairfax County Public Schools and I am a social studies teacher. This year I am teaching U.S./VA Government and Economics and Personal Finance. It has been an average to good school year thus far. I am looking forward to the summer vacation and being with my family.

I am happily married and we are blessed with children that are responsible, fun loving and free spirited. Our family is unique in that we have had the opportunity to live on three different continents as a family. Our children are very adaptable human beings and they do it all with a smile on their faces.

As I mentioned earlier, I experienced some frustration creating this blog. My daughter felt so bad for me that she volunteered to help me. As I sat there looking at my daughter teach me what I did not know, I could not help but think that karma is real and powerful. I can remember when I was teaching her as a young toddler about different aspects of life. Who would have thought that fifteen years later that she would be showing mommy how to create a blog. Of course in my teacher mindset -  I used this as a teachable moment. The old can always learn from the young and I pray that the young will want to learn from those of us who are old.

  1. Your daughter did a good job with you ( and you with your daughter in that she is willing to help you with your course!) and your blog looks great so far. Great start!
